The Young Westminster Foundation (YWF) is seeking a dynamic Marketing & Engagement Manager to join our team.

Job Title: Marketing and Engagement Manager
Contract: Permanent, full time (can offer part time role for the right candidate)
Salary: £33 000 per annum
Location: YWF Office, Soho, and homeworking (hybrid)

We’re looking for an experienced Marketing and Engagement Manager to join our small and dynamic team based from our Soho office. Someone with an excellent track record of using creative digital content to reach new audiences and engage with diverse communities.

About Young Westminster Foundation:

The Young Westminster Foundation is a vibrant local charity established to support young people growing up in Westminster to have healthy, safe and bright futures. The foundation is a crosssector partnership, working with youth clubs, charities, schools, businesses, funders, government and Westminster City Council.

Since 2017, we have been supporting local youth clubs and organisations through grants, training, research and networking opportunities. Forging partnerships with businesses, public sector partners, individuals and major funders, our work helps strengthen services for all young people in our central London borough. We have grown from a small startup charity to an established goto organisation for the youth sector, awarding £1 million+ in grants to our membership of over 140 youth organisations throughout our 5 years.

The Role:

The successful candidate will support our Director of Strategy & Communications and Westminster’s Youth Hubs in collaboration with the wider YWF community, including young people and corporate partners. You will develop and manage high quality digital marketing campaigns to help grow the awareness & digital footprint of YWF and Westminster’s youth organisations. You will grow and develop our marketing presence & performance via events, print publications, websites, email campaigns, social media, film and other online channels; ensuring innovation and the testing new ideas. This will support Westminster’s youth organisations in their recruitment & retention young people in addition to their income generation capability and local/regional influence.

You will be central to our ambition to listen and respond to the needs of its Westminster community; designing & delivering campaigns with young Westminster residents and youth workers.

This role will suit someone with significant experience working and engaging with young people & diverse communities. You will be keen to develop your skills and knowledge within a startup environment whilst gaining unique exposure to the youth sector within Westminster and panLondon, with the opportunity to network with and learn from a range of stakeholders, whilst positively impacting the lives of young people within the borough.

Responsibilities:

Working collaboratively with Westminster’s Youth Hubs, YWF Members and young people to develop and manage a panWestminster marketing, campaigns and digital strategy.
Supporting plans to grow opportunities for membership and partnership recruitment/retention and income generation, including liaising with schools and businesses.
Intuitive approach to managing online platforms and content management systems.
• Developing engaging content, following brand style and tone of voice for; website, social media, film, SEO, email marketing activity via regular newsletters; planning and delivery of regular digital marketing campaigns. Working with film makers, designers and creative agencies as required.
Identify trends and insights and optimise performance for a range of audiences based on the analytics. Keep up to date with new marketing opportunities, platforms and technologies.
Supporting YWF Youth Hubs in digital outreach and the wider Westminster outreach youth work strategy. Including training and upskilling of Youth Hub staff and volunteers
Facilitating and developing long term relationships between YWF Members, Youth Hubs and the wider Westminster community, including businesses and Westminster City Council
Line management (after 6 months)


What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with excellent creative communication and digital skills together with a passion for supporting your local community and for giving young people a voice.

You will have excellent written and oral communications skills, strong analytical capabilities, and a flair for project management.

Significant experience within a digital, marketing or communications role

Intuitive approach to new online platforms and content management systems
Deep knowledge and significant experience of managing digital and social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok), including predictors of success, and developing engaging content, following brand style and tone of voice
Significant experience of using website CMS eg WordPress
Excellent understanding of SEO and paid social
Significant experience of using Adobe Suite/Canva for digital and print design
You will love getting to know your target audiences and will be passionate about helping
young people shape their futures, and about the opportunities available through youth
organisations

Interpersonal skills you will also be a team player and natural collaborator, comfortable
working with a wide range of colleagues and diverse stakeholders.

Mucking in working in a small team with tight resources you will not be shy about helping out
