We’re hiring: Evaluation and Data Specialist

The Young Westminster Foundation (YWF) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Evaluation and Data Specialist on a temporary basis until September 2024 (with the potential to extend). 

Contract: Part-time, 3-4 days / week (negotiable)

Start date: March 2022

Salary: £34,000-38,000 p.a. (depending on experience)

Location: Young Westminster Foundation’s Office in Soho and Westminster’s Youth Hubs with opportunity for flexible and remote working

This role will support Westminster’s five Youth Hubs to standardise their data collection process and to better understand and articulate the individual and joint value of Westminster’s Youth Hubs. The Evaluation and Data specialist will also provide support and guidance to the YWF Grants and Evaluation Manager who oversees YWF’s internal impact evaluation.

About the five Youth Hubs:

The Westminster Youth Hubs are fun, informal and safe youth club spaces for young people to connect with their friends, community and youth workers. The Youth Hubs deliver a wide range of programmes where members can socialise and learn new skills, helping them develop positive identities and unlock potential. The five Youth Hubs serve young people in specific localities across the borough and shape the overall development of youth services in Westminster as part of a model that champions innovation and collaboration.

About Young Westminster Foundation

YWF is an infrastructure organisation based in the City of Westminster. Since 2017, we have been supporting a membership of local youth clubs and organisations through grants, training and networking opportunities. Forging partnerships with businesses, public sector partners, individuals and major funders, our work helps strengthen services for all young people in the borough.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate for this role will develop relationships with each Youth hub and work collaboratively to support and assist them in their data collection and analysis. Your expertise will enable them to improve how Youth Hubs utilise their data for delivery, marketing and business planning purposes, thus strengthening their sustainability.

In addition, you will work closely with YWF’s Digital and Engagement Manager to help Hubs tell stories with their data about their work, their young people and local community. You will also work alongside YWF’s Grants and Evaluation Manager to build YWF’s internal evaluation knowledge and capacity to expand YWF’s grants and evaluation function. You will also support YWF’s fundraising by analysing and utilising Westminster specific data sets for funding bids.

You will foster and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders (including YWF’s funders) and respond to requests for data and information in an accurate and prompt manner.

What we are looking for:

You will have experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, reporting and visualisation and are confident in using data systems, MS Excel and CRM. You have knowledge of the GDPR and managing sensitive and confidential data. You will have been involved in and ideally led an evaluation of an organisation. You will be practical, proactive, and well-organised as well as committed to working in an inclusive and collaborative way. You will be confident to work independently and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Above all you have a passion for supporting youth organisations and using your excellent people skills to engage with youth practitioners and young people alike.
