Young People’s Foundations

We are part of the YPF network, uniting individual foundations with the shared goal of bringing together the public, private and voluntary sectors to affect positive change for young people.

YWF Timeline

2015

John Lyon’s Charity sets out its vision for young people’s foundations initiating first three foundations in Harrow, Brent and Barnet.

2016

Westminster City Council confirms to funding for the Young Westminster Foundation. Our three founding trustees (Jackie Rosenberg, Rachael Wright-Turner and Shane Ryan) are appointed and in September the charity is registered with the charities commission.

2017

Our CEO Philip Barron is appointed and starts work for the charity in May and our Development Manager Helen Mann starts in September. Our team of peer researchers are recruited and trained by Rocket Science to undertake our Needs Analysis through the summer months and later published in November. Seven more trustees are appointed to the board and our membership arrangements launched in November.
