Our City Now Live!

Discover what’s on for under 25’s in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea

City of Westminster, London, June 28th 2021: Young Westminster Foundation and Young K&C today launch a new, online platform connecting young Londoners with free or low-cost activities in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. Our City connects young people with activities, programmes and services taking place locally.

All projects are run by friendly and experienced local organisations who are passionate about creating opportunities for young people. In partnership, it raises the profile of Young Westminster Foundation & Young K&C member organisations, and helps projects reach more local young people.

What you’ll find on Our City:

  • Projects – These are updated by youth organisations themselves; they can be active on a rolling basis or one-offs, virtually or in-person, and free or with a small cost. Including sports, arts and culture, skills and training and much more. The project finder tool allows young people to filter projects based on interests, location and support needs. Young people can also access what’s on offer near them, via the Your Area pages.
  • Organisations – The site has listings of youth organisations working across the boroughs, each with their own landing page, explaining a little more about their work
  • Reviews – Young people are encouraged to leave a review for the projects they have attended, providing a platform for young voices
  • Holiday Activities – Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster offer a Holiday Activities and Food Programme, providing an array of activities for local young people throughout the school holidays. This year’s summer programme will offer free places at holiday clubs for five to 16 year-olds who are eligible for Free School Meals. As well as fun activities to join, nutritious meals will be available through the programme

“Young people have told us they are looking for better information around what’s on offer for them locally. This was recently highlighted in our needs analysis report Our City, Our Future” said CEO of Young Westminster Phil Barron. “The new Our City website has been built with this in mind. It’s a fantastic resource which we hope will better connect young people with youth organisations. We’re grateful to all our members and partners who have helped bring the site to life”.
