Goodbye from Karolina

It’s been two wonderful years of working at YWF to say the least! I started off as a social media and events Intern back in April 2022 while I was finishing off my final year at University of Westminster.

When I first started, I had no clue about the incredible world of charity that I’d be stepping in to.  It has led me to see and appreciate the work of amazing organisations, the most caring individuals and the experience of the charity sector.

I can’t articulate how much knowledge, confidence and insight I have gained at my time at YWF. All thanks to the support of the loveliest team! Working here has been so rewarding, meaningful and emotionally fulfilling. As part of my role is working with young ambassadors and young people from the borough, while supporting the programme for the past two years, I had the privilege to experience young people also grow in confidence and take part in a big piece of research for Our City, Our Future needs analysis.

I have truly enjoyed every minute of my time here and would love to share the following memories I’ve had:

  • Experiencing Go Ape with the team as part of my first team away day, conquering fears and having many many laughs
  • Celebrating our 5th Birthday event in the National Gallery and meeting lots of organisations and partners who work with us
  • Attending Wicked and The Play That Goes Wrong with our Young Ambassadors as an end of year celebration
  • Being part of the filming crew for Roots of Our Community film with the Lord Mayor of Westminster
  • Meeting lots of other like-minded and passionate young people and creating friendships

It has been such a pleasure to be a part of an organisation so dedicated to helping young people thrive especially being a young person myself. The work of YWF and many other Young People’s Foundation is so important, and I am truly grateful to have worked with the amazing people at YWF who have given me insight to every part of charity and beyond through all their knowledge and expertise and have continuously supported and inspired me. A massive thank you to the whole team.

Working here has made me discover things that are most important which is community and that is something which I will hold very close to my heart. 😊

I am looking forward to seeing the organisation thrive and will most definitely stay in touch.
